The Sindoms is a colloquial term used in Wayland for the seven elven kingdoms (and capital) to the north and west of Wayland.
Geography[]
The confederacy of kingdoms is clustered around the central lake. In clockwise order, they are:
The Council is also part of the Sindoms, and is located in the middle of the lake. Until recently, it was connected by bridge to Guard.
The borders of the Sindoms have not expanded in the last few centuries.
Religion[]
The citizens of the Sindoms do not worship deities in the traditional sense, instead worshiping the traditional seven deadly sins of Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, and Pride. They refer to these as virtues. They also treat the traditional virtues of Chastity, Temperance, Charity, Dilligence, Patience, Kindness, and Humility as sins. Each kingdom in the confederacy exemplifies a different traditional sin, such as Golden Rose being the embodiment of Pride.
Each sin has a soul who embodies this trait. The Sindoms refer to these people as Saints. The virtues also have avatars, who are referred to as Harbingers. It is said that if anyone gathers all seven saints or all seven harbingers in one place, that person will be granted a wish.
